Larry Wollschlager, Founder
Three Mountains Organization was founded by Larry Wollschlager in 2024. Mr. Wollschlager graduated from the University of Texas El Paso (UTEP) with a bachelor's degree in biological science in 1971 and a master's degree in geological science in 1975. He was a wrestler at UTEP and won Western Athletic Conference titles in 1969 and 1970. He was honored as a Gold Nugget in 2009, an award presented by the Alumni Association and by UTEP colleges to their outstanding alumni.
"UTEP gave a lot to me," Wollschlager said. "I wouldn't be where I'm at if I didn't go to school with this quality."
Mr. Larry Wollschlager's passion for geology continues through his involvement in numerous projects. In 2022, Larry became an active board member of the El Paso nonprofit organization Insights Science Center. Insights was founded in 1979 to offer interactive science education experiences to the Border Region.
Mr. Wollschlager and his company, Wolf Energy, donated $3 million to The University of Texas at El Paso College of Science, the largest endowment the department has ever received. Larry gifted the funds for two new research centers: the Center for Integrative and Translational Research and the Interdisciplinary Institute for Strategic and Sustainable Resources. These facilities will focus on sustainable resources and Hispanic health disparities.
"I'm hoping that some of this money is a foundation, a footstep in the right direction so we can create new disciplines that would provide jobs that truly help the new scientific advancement they (UTEP) have."
